I’ve ordered a classic FSSK but now I’m thinking why stop at just one?

I have the F62 for about a year now. There have been no issues so far and it’s really pleasant to type on. The only thing I don’t really like are the stabilizers of the left shift and the enter key, specifically the lack of actual stabilizers. At least on my unit, these keys are not exactly smooth.

On my F77 I put a light coat of 205g0 inside the barrel stabilizer insert and it helps at least a little bit. I wouldn’t go too hard with the coating though.

I’m sure your colleagues will want one too when they see you using one :)

Sorry to necro the post, but I have two of the new Model F. I have the F77 in the classic case and then I got an FSSK when they released because of the form factor. I ended up switching back to the F77 because it just feels and looks nicer.

Interesting. I have the classic FSSK on order. How’s the keyfeel compared to, say, a model M?

The new Model Fs feel just like my original Model Fs if you have ever typed on one. Typing on Model Fs feel a bit lighter and crisper than on a Model M. I loved my Models Ms and I have had one since I was a kid, but once I was using a Model F, the M felt like a rough imitation (which I suppose isn’t that far from the truth). It isn’t the world changing difference that some people would tell you, but it does feel significantly better to me. It doesn’t hurt that you also get NKRO and, in these reproductions, the ability to customize the layout via the programmable firmware. I also really like the hefty case compared to the plastic of the Model Ms, especially the zinc case in the classic model, but the aluminum case of the FSSK isn’t too shabby either.

Thought about it, was browsing their site, then the page turned dark and a popup asked for my email address to sign up for their newsletter.

So I won’t be buying one.
